Artist, Illustrator, Speaker & Twat (United Kingdom)
Together with DK, Mr Bingo is back in Rovinj. In this glorious throwback to one of the highest rated speakers and lectures ever to grace our circular stage, this master illustrator and “troll for hire” will bring all the laughs in a hilarious and dynamic lecture – one you’ll retell to your friends afterwards.
Next to being an artist and architect behind controversial projects such as Hate Mail, in which strangers pay him to send them offensive and beautifully illustrated postcards, he is also a self-proclaimed ‘twat’. After a 15-year-long career as a commercial illustrator during which he had built a classy portfolio working with The New Yorker, The Guardian, TIME, The New York Times, Microsoft, BBC, Nike, Volkswagen and MTV among others, he decided to bid farewell to client/company business and enjoy life as a free artist.
Art provocateur and a careless vagabond, he’s also a star of an audience-curated Instagram page “Watching Mr Bingo“, where people take random pictures of him in his everyday life – yes, he really is that popular. In 2017 he proved to us how inventing absurd projects – such as awarding participants of his Kickstarter campaign with house cleaning, drinking on a train, queen’s pornographic drawing or a rude Christmas invitation – can lead to success. This year he’s back to share what he has learned since then.
This ‘charming sociopath’, whose name came from playing Bingo at Gala Bingo in Maidstone, Kent in 1998 where he won £141.26p and got the nickname Bingo, is the first throwback at DK festival and is surely one not to be missed.
