Sometimes we need a reminder of all those intangible values that we often forget in our everyday rush, and Timothy Goodman, a renowned artist and creative mind, will perfectly connect the communications industry with art — and purpose.
From a house painter to creating the cover of Time magazine — the path to success is often unusual, and nobody knows it better than Timothy Goodman, the new addition to the star-studded lineup at this year’s DK Festival! Our festival of creativity and communications, which will gather the best of our industry on 11—14 April in Rovinj, is dedicated to typically untypical creativity that transcends rational boundaries and follows only its own rules, and that’s exactly what the You Gotta Make a Lot of Stuff Before You Can Make Stuff Like Yourself talk by this celebrated artist, designer, illustrator, muralist, and author will demonstrate.
Timothy Goodman has one goal in life — to express himself authentically and completely. The fact that society recognizes this is evident today in his portfolio, which features not only beautiful designs seen on walls in Williamsburg but also collaborations with global brands such as Apple, Google, the Museum of Modern Art, and Yves Saint Laurent. He is an artist in the truest sense of the word, and his illustrations have an important task — they initiate significant dialogues about life and creativity.

He keeps finding new ways to discuss important topics, whether it’s decorating a basketball court in a Brooklyn school or designing sneakers for Nike. Famous New York garbage trucks adorned with drawings, or decorations on the walls of trendy hotels in New York — all of the above are the work of this creative genius who doesn’t accept boundaries and doesn’t limit his art by location or format, hence it can even be found on T-shirts of the popular brand Uniqlo. However, Goodman’s art stands out not only for its diversity but also for the strong influence it has on society.
With an incredible creative expression, the uniqueness of Goodman’s work lies in the fact that mental health, politics, and love are just some of the topics he puts at the forefront of his creation. He is coming to DK2024 with a very personal mission — he wants to return to the very beginning and offer us the answer to the eternal question for the industry, but also beyond it: how to define meaning? We are impatient to find everything out in Rovinj, said Anđela Buljan Šiber, Member of the DK Festival Organizing Committee.
