POOLSIDE Stage | Saturday | 11:30AM — 12PM
We deal with money every day — earning, spending, saving, borrowing — yet talking about it still feels… awkward. Why does financial conversation remain so taboo, especially in a world where oversharing is the norm? And in advertising and public discourse, let’s face it: money talk is often as appealing as a spreadsheet.
This discussion dives into the cultural, social and psychological reasons behind our discomfort with financial dialogue. From pay transparency and debt to saving habits and spending choices, we’ll unpack how communication professionals, psychologists and financial experts can help shift the narrative — from stiff and stale to clear, compelling and yes, even sexy. At DK2025 we’re featuring voices who dare to make money talk interesting. Alongside Petra Bašić Jantolić (Managing Director, Business Development, Addiko Bank, Member of IAB Croatia), who knows money talk better than most, we’ve invited a psychologist and a therapist Martina Trboglav Podvorac (Owner of Private Psychological Practice), one of the most well-known Croatian DJ’s and DK’s resident — DJ Rea (Rea Hadžiosmanović, music editor, music journalist, music consultant and owner of Puding), one of the most awarded creatives in the country Davor Bruketa (Creative Director and Co-owner of full-service agency Bruketa&Žinić&Grey, Member of HURA & IAB Croatia, Festival’s Organising Committee Member), as well as public relations specialist and a moderator Petar Tanta (Director, CTA komunikacije, Member of HURA & IAB Croatia) this conversation will bring new insights, real-life examples and bold strategies for breaking the silence. Because if money really makes the world go round, maybe it’s time we learned how to talk about it — out loud and unapologetically.
